How portable is it when folded?

Tropical Saunaā„¢

The Tropical Saunaā„¢ weighs 9 kg. Once disassembled it comes in its box measuring approximately 70cm x 60cm x 38cm (for comparison, this is about the size of a golf bag).

Ice Podā„¢

The Ice Pod folds into a carry bag with an included carrying handle, measuring 68cm x 11cm x 36cm and weighing 4kg in total.

How does it work ?

Tropical Saunaā„¢

The Tropical Saunaā„¢ takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to set up and 5 minutes to take down.

After doing it once, it becomes easier to do it quickly - we compare it to setting up a small camping tent - we wouldn't recommend setting it up and taking it down daily as it could be tedious.

Then, the SmartSteam must be plugged into the mains and allows steam to be produced in the sauna.

Distilled or purified water is poured into the SmartSteam chamber and within 10 minutes, steam begins to flow from the chamber into the insulated tent.

Ice Podā„¢

The Ice Podā„¢ works on the principles of cold water therapy.

Thermal Insulation: The portable Ice Pod is equipped with high-quality thermal insulation materials that help maintain the cold water temperature inside the pod.

Weather Resistance: The Ice Pod is designed to be weather and UV resistant, allowing it to be used indoors or outdoors, even in temperatures below freezing.

Easy assembly and disassembly: The Ice Pod is designed for quick and easy assembly and disassembly, making it portable and suitable for use at home, while traveling, or even outdoors.

Suitable dimensions: The portable Ice Pod is designed with suitable dimensions to be spacious enough while remaining portable. Some can be folded or disassembled for easy transport.

Durability: The materials used for the Ice Pod are durable and non-harmful, ensuring a long life of the product in complete health safety.

What is the ideal temperature?

Tropical Saunaā„¢

The Tropical Saunaā„¢ heats the interior to over 54Ā°C (130Ā°F).

As a steam sauna, the near 100% humidity prevents sweat from evaporating, producing effects similar to those of a dry sauna over 71Ā°C (160Ā°F).

The condensed area of ā€‹ā€‹the sauna also helps to increase the intensity of the heat.

You can easily adjust heat levels and duration directly on the SmartSteam unit and remotely via the remote control.

Ice Podā„¢

To benefit from the health benefits, you will need to stay in cold water below 15Ā°C (59Ā° Fahrenheit).

We recommend starting with a temperature of around 15Ā°C (59Ā° Fahrenheit) for your ice water bath if this is your first time, then gradually lowering the temperature and duration for each session. This way your body will get used to the cold.

For the more seasoned enthusiast, lower the water temperature to less than 50Ā°F to really feel the shock, and stay there for at least 2 minutes for optimal benefits.

As each individual is different, some people can tolerate lower temperatures.

What is the optimal duration of use?

Tropical Saunaā„¢

The recommended duration of use for a steam sauna depends on various factors, such as individual heat tolerance, general health and sensitivity of each person.

However, in general, experts recommend sauna sessions lasting around 15 to 20 minutes.

The ideal is to achieve a total of 57 minutes of heat exposure per week, divided into several 15 to 20 minute sessions.

It is important to listen to your body during the session. If you feel any discomfort, it is best to exit the sauna. It is also crucial to stay hydrated by drinking water before and after the session to compensate for fluid loss due to sweating. If you have any pre-existing health conditions, it is always advisable to consult a healthcare professional before starting regular sauna sessions.

Ice Podā„¢

Cold water therapy works best with the right combination of time and temperature.

To benefit from the health benefits, you will need to stay in cold water below 15Ā°C (59Ā° Fahrenheit) for 3 to 5 minutes.

The total weekly cold exposure to aim for is only 11 minutes, divided into several sessions.

When is the best time to use it?

Tropical Saunaā„¢

After exercise: Many people find it beneficial to take a sauna after exercise. This can help relax muscles, relieve tension and promote recovery.

At the end of the day: Taking a sauna in the evening can be a great way to relax before bed. This can help induce sleep by promoting relaxation and lowering body temperature after the session.

In cold weather: Doing a sauna in cold weather can be particularly invigorating. This can warm you up effectively and create a pleasant contrast to the cool outside temperatures.

When you're feeling stressed: If you've had a stressful day, a sauna can be an effective way to relieve stress and promote relaxation.

Before exercise: Some prefer to do a sauna before exercise to increase blood circulation, improve muscle flexibility and prepare the body for physical exertion.

Ice Podā„¢

The ideal time to take a cold water bath depends on your personal preferences and goals.

Morning to boost energy: Some people prefer to take a cold water bath in the morning to boost their energy and start the day with a boost.

After Exercise: Many people find it beneficial to take a cold water bath after exercise to help reduce inflammation, soothe sore muscles, and aid recovery.

In response to stress: For some people, a cold water bath can be an effective method of coping with stress and promoting mental clarity.

After a hot day: In summer or in hot climates, a bath in cold water can be refreshing after a hot day.

What are the benefits?

Tropical Saunaā„¢

1. Relaxation and Stress Relief: Sauna creates a calming environment that can help reduce stress and promote mental and physical relaxation.

2. Skin rejuvenation: The heat and steam of the sauna can open the pores of the skin, promoting the elimination of impurities. This contributes to healthier skin, better texture and improved complexion.

3. Detoxification: Sweating profusely during a sauna session helps remove toxins from the body, thereby aiding in detoxification.

4. Improved sleep: Sauna sessions can promote a feeling of calm and prepare the body for restful sleep. Saunas before bed are often recommended to improve sleep quality.

5. Improved Blood Circulation: Sauna heat can dilate blood vessels, thereby improving blood circulation. This can have positive effects on cardiovascular health.

6. Mental Health Benefits: Taking some time for yourself in a sauna can contribute to better mental health by providing a moment of tranquility, reducing anxiety and improving mood.

7. Muscle and Joint Pain Relief: Sauna heat can soothe tight muscles, reduce inflammation, and help relieve muscle and joint pain.

Ice Podā„¢

1. Reduction of inflammation: Exposure to cold water can help reduce inflammation, relieve inflamed muscles and promote recovery after exercise.

2. Improved muscle recovery: Ice baths can help relieve muscle soreness, reduce muscle fatigue, and speed recovery after strenuous physical activities.

3. Stimulation of the immune system: Exposure to cold can stimulate the immune system by increasing the production of white blood cells, which could increase resistance to infections.

4. Improved blood circulation: Cold water causes vasoconstriction of blood vessels, followed by vasodilation once you leave the bath, which can improve blood circulation.

5. Increased energy and alertness: Ice baths can stimulate the release of endorphins and increase alertness, providing a feeling of increased energy.

6. Improved sleep: Some people find that ice baths, especially when taken before bed, can promote deeper, more restful sleep.

7. Stress and anxiety management: Exposure to cold can trigger a hormonal response that helps reduce stress and anxiety.

Can it be used outdoors?

Tropical Saunaā„¢

The Tropical Saunaā„¢ can be used both indoors and outdoors.

If you leave it outside, we recommend covering it with suitable shelter such as a tent, awning, tarpaulin, etc.

The Tropical Saunaā„¢ is NOT waterproof. Leaving it outside for a long time may cause cosmetic damage to the exterior.

Ice Podā„¢

We designed the Ice Pod to be weather and UV resistant, allowing you to install it indoors or outdoors, even in sub-freezing temperatures.

The insulation layer significantly slows down the formation of ice in the water, but we still recommend stirring the water at least once a day to prevent it from completely freezing.

How should we maintain it?

Tropical Saunaā„¢

The interior of the thermal insulated cover is designed to prevent mold and bacteria buildup.

A sweat-absorbent, quick-drying, machine-washable mat is included in every order for the sauna bottom.

After use, we recommend leaving the door flap open to allow air circulation and wiping water vapor off the interior walls.

Ice Podā„¢

Always keep the lid on when not in use to prevent debris from falling inside!

We recommend changing the water once a week without adding any additives.

When emptying the water from your Ice Pod, to extend the life of your next fill, we recommend washing the interior surfaces with warm water and soap.

Side effects

Ice Bath: Immersion in cold water, such as cold water therapy or ice baths, can have side effects, and it is important to take precautions. Here are some potential side effects of cold water immersion:

  1. Hypothermia: Prolonged exposure to cold water can cause excessive body heat loss, leading to hypothermia. This can happen if the water temperature is extremely low and the immersion time is too long.
  2. Numbness and tingling: Immersion in cold water can cause numbness and tingling sensations, often due to constriction of blood vessels.
  3. Thermal Shock: Suddenly entering very cold water can result in thermal shock, causing a stress response in the body. This can result in rapid breathing and an increased heart rate.
  4. Respiratory disorders: Immersion in cold water may cause a respiratory shock reaction, particularly if the head is submerged. This can lead to rapid, shallow breathing.
  5. Cardiovascular effects: For some people, immersion in cold water can cause an increase in blood pressure and heart rate. People with cardiovascular problems should consult a healthcare professional before trying this practice.
  6. Muscle Soreness: Although cold water immersion can be beneficial for muscle recovery, it can also cause feelings of muscle stiffness or soreness during or after the experience.

Sauna: Regular sauna use can have health benefits, but it is important to note that some people may experience side effects. Here are some potential side effects of sauna:

  1. Dehydration: The heat of the sauna can cause you to lose fluids through sweating, which can cause dehydration. It is essential to stay well hydrated by drinking enough water before and after a sauna session.
  2. Lowered blood pressure: Saunas can cause blood vessels to dilate, which can cause a temporary drop in blood pressure. People sensitive to these changes should exercise caution and consult their doctor.
  3. Feeling dizzy or faint: The heat of the sauna can sometimes cause feelings of dizziness or fainting, especially if the person stays too long or does not hydrate properly.
  4. Skin irritation: Some people may experience skin irritation from heat and sweating. It is advisable to take a shower after the sauna session to remove impurities from the skin.
  5. Respiratory discomfort: People with respiratory problems may experience discomfort in a sauna, due to the heat and dryness of the air. It is recommended to consult a healthcare professional before using a sauna.

Our recommendation

Despite the potential side effects and warnings, using contrast therapy correctly actually has many health benefits! We always recommend starting by spending just a few minutes in the ice bath and sauna, then gradually increasing the recommended time, without ever pushing your body beyond its limits.
